Aims: through the provision of research-grade equipment, tailored hands-on activities and enthusiastic staff, researchers & LEGO! we hope to achieve our four main aims:

–Show-case Newcastle University’s scientific facilities and the cutting-edge analytical equipment that they employ

–Provide an insight into key medical and scientific research themes within the University and allow members of the public to meet scientists and question them about their work

–To allow members of the public (children through to adults) to interact with research tools to see the inner working of the cell.

–To evoke interest in science, microscopy and flow cytometry through a sense of involvement, allowing participants to prepare their own samples observe them and potentially build their own equipment at home
